Lightning crackled, and the windows flew open. Thunder crashed through the air. Standing before Eve, was a woman cloaked in black.
"For the crimes you have committed.." She began, "You will have your world come crumbling down, by your own hands."
Raising her hand, the woman began to chant, shadows collecting in her open palm. Throwing the door open, Moria rushed in with Warlund behind her.
"Eve!" Moria shouts, moving to try and charge at the woman.
Eve glared up at the stranger as chains kept her bound into a kneeling position.
"Your tools of destruction come, 'Lady' Daniels." The woman purred, before turning her hand towards Moria and Warlund.
Eve pushed herself up enough to try and knock the woman over, but fell too late. The shadows sprung forth but were only altered enough that they struck Moria. Falling the ground, the druidess gasped for air as the shadows went into her mouth, nose, and ears. Warlund stepped forward, gripping the hilt of his sword and took a swing at the stranger. A cackle echoed through the chambers as she dispersed into shadows.
"It's too late, your happiness is forfeit." Was all they could hear before everything fell silent.
"Eve! Are you alright?" Warlund spoke in his deep tone, moving to break the chains off.
"Damn bitch." Eve growled quietly, "What did she do to Moria?"
The duo looked at the unconscious woman, expecting something to happen. With a groan, she awoke, holding her head.
"Ow." Was all she muttered before sitting up, her gaze shifting around the room.
Stepping forward hesitantly, Eve eyed her friend, "How are you feeling?"
"Like I'm gonna vomit." Moria grumbled, standing up with a wobble.
Eve let out a laugh, "At least that is all. Come on, let's go get you checked out."
Moria gave a nod, her eyes casting a glance towards Warlund. Without them noticing, a rune appeared on Moria's lower back, black as the shadows that had entered her. A twitch came to her eye but she let Eve lead her away.
Kill him. Kill the monster who has brought strife and hardship to this world. KILL HIM.
Moria shook her head and her mind whirled with ways to end the man's life as the healers cleared her.
"Well, at least that dramatic bitch is gone. Seems the wedding will continue on like normal." Moria smiles at Eve, squeezing her friend's hands.
Eve snickers, but Warlund speaks up, "I'm having more guards surround the area. Don't need a repeat of tonight."
Moria waves him off before leaving the home.
Days later...
"Where is she? I can't do this without her. I shouldn't feel this way. By the shadows, I think I'm gonna be sick." Eve ranted nervously, her white gown swishing with every movement.
"You will be fine, My Lady. Perhaps she just got sick?" Hannah tried to quell her mistress's nerves.
Hearing the music begin, Eve took a breath. She gave a nod to Hannah and began her march down the aisle. As the couple exchanged vows, everything began to go wrong.
"If there are any who do not believe these two should be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace." The officiator spoke.
Suddenly the guards were blasted across the area, falling next to the cliff edge.
"I object." A feral growl escaped Moria's lips.
Eve and Warlund snapped their heads to look at her. She was covered in blood, and her eyes were red to match.
"Moria! What is the meaning of this?" Eve hissed towards her.
Holding her hands to her sides, the ground began to rumble before roots bursted through the earth and wrapped around Warlund.
"I will kill the monster, just as I have killed his steed. Now he will meet his end with no way to run." Moria retorted to her friend, her nose twitching.
Reaching behind her, Eve grabbed a dagger and tried to cut the vines off of Warlund.
