Why She's Bad

Inspiration: No Good Deed

After Vaul was slain and Ogrimskar freed, many accused Charlotte of having been apart of the coup due to her affiliation with the now dead lord. She was sentenced to be cut down as assurance from the rabbles of the crowds, but before she could be killed, she allowed her wrath to finally be unleashed. Tears streaming down her face as the bracelet fell from her wrist and the ground shook and opened wide, arcane whisps flowing out and lashing at everything before she disappeared.

She found herself landing in the snow outside the destroyed lab. Tears streaking down her face as she pushed herself up, gripping her bare arms as the howling winds of Icecrown rushed around her. Her hands burned with arcane wounds, pulsing from the overpower but she pushed through, shoving debris out of her way. Chanting to herself as things moved at her command, she felt Vaul's soul pulsing far away, and she would find it. She stepped over the body of dead demons before coming to a door that not even the council of magi could open.

She placed her hand over the vault, "They didn't believe me because of you." She clenched her fist against the metal door. "Was I ever really good though... Was it just the attention I desired? Is that what you made me?"

She heard whispers of the souls that lingered, she could sense the ley lines weaving near by, someone was coming. She focused the souls into her spell.

"I will take what is mine." She growled as she felt the souls rip through the metal, opening a way for her to storm in and grab the soul gem.

She held it to her heart, "If they won't accept me, then I will return those who did."

"Charlotte!" Aayan's voice rang out. "We know you're here. Don't run from us! We want to help!"

"No. You'll only be caught in this too." She told herself, tears freezing to her cheeks as her gaze became determination.

"Let all of Azeroth agree, I'm wicked through and through." She then called upon the spirits to inhabit constructs of snow and arcane.

"CHARLOTTE!" Aayan shouts as he sees her, only to be blocked by the guardians.

Once the guardians were cut through, all that was left was ruins.

Charlotte was gone.

Staring at her old home, she moved to slowly wander in. No one knew of its location in Silverpine and none dared wander near due to the feral worgs and worgen that still wandered the area. Even more so the undead that still fought for control of the area. She set the stone on a table and stared at it.

"Why... Why did you do this.." Her voice was weak as she slumped to her knees. "Why did you betray everyone... Betray me.. I was your pupil.. and yet you used my trust to trap others. Was I just a pawn?"

She clenched her fists against her knees, giving small hics as she tried to stiffle sobs.

"Even if I returned, the masses would have me hung. They'd kill everyone else that wants to help me." She slammed her fist on the ground, "You've killed us all!"

She covered her mouth with a bleeding hand, still suppressing sobs, "I must become the new enemy they despise.. Or else the others will die."

The soulstone pulsed, "Then conquer them."

Her eyes glowed a mixture of arcane and soul magic, frozen tears now burning. "I'll save them.. even if I have to become what they hate."
