The buzzing and faint light was all the senses could grasp onto. A quiet groan of pain as her eyes blink open.
"Fucking fel. What hit me?" She rubs the back of her head.
He glanced down at her, "You're awake. Seems we've been captured."
She stands up, peering around at the cell, "Well, that seems like a poor choice on their part."
"What do you have in mind?" He spoke carefully, watching her as she stepped towards the barred door.
"Hope you are as well attuned with those flames of yours as you claim." She pops her shoulder, adjusting herself as she slips her arm pass the bars, reaching downwards to unlock the door.
"What are you planning, Lilsadiir." He stood and took a step towards her.
The lock made a click before it opened, Lil pulls her arm out of the bars, popping her shoulder back in place.
"Well what are you waiting for? An invitation?" She smiles at him.
He gives a nod, "Let's get out of here."
The two quickly jog out of the prison. After several moments of silently moving through the strange stone castle, an alarm began blaring.
"Shit. They know." Lil says under her breath as she hides behind a door as a few guards run down the near by corridor.
"Any plans?" He raised a brow as the cogs begin to turn in his head.
"Uh..." Lil looks around, spotting a shelf of books, "Yes."

Breaking Free
"I see you have stirred a rabble, Cassalandria." The high priestess speaks as she enters the girls dull and lack luster room.
"What are you speaking of, High Priestess?" She looks up from her writing to meet the woman's gaze.
"Already filling in to your role of this world.. But still, you lie and kidnap from the gods!" The woman was angry, stepping forward to slap the girl across the face.
"W-What do you mean?! I haven't left my room since the choosing, Mother!" Cass holds her cheek, eyes wide.
"Do not speak of me as your mother, girl. It is such a dishonor to know you have fallen so far as to steal the magic of the gods and pass them out freely amongst the common students." The high priestess scowls down at her.
"I have done no such thing! I can't even access the god stones now that my being has been corrupted!" Cass stands out of her seat, trying to defend herself.
"You lie more, in this sacred place no less! The gods shall not be desecrated in such a manner, here of all places." She pulls out two metal bands and sears them onto the girl's wrists, causing her to scream out in agony.
She sobs, "I have done nothing wrong!" she grabs herself and falls to her knees.
"Until you tell the whole truth, even the darkest truth in your heart, you will NEVER be able to use your full magic ability." The priestess looks down upon her before turning and walking out of the room.
Kory stands outside the room, "Was that necessary, High Priestess?"
"Yes... Now guard her door and make sure she does not leave that room until I come and get her." The priestess says before heading down the hall, mumbling to herself as she walks.
"Fat chance of that." Kory says once she is gone.
Kory waits until nightfall, then ushers Pascho in.
"What's the plan?" Pascho asks in a hushed tone.
Kory points to the door, "Grab her, go out the window and meet me where we agreed, alright?"
Pascho nods, entering the door and walking into the sleeping Cassie's room.
"Forgive me." Pascho says to no one as he hefts her over his shoulder, using magic to keep her under as he climbs out the window, onto the roof.
He carefully manages to climb down with her and races into the frosty trees. He walks for a few hours before coming upon a clearing with a large bonfire burning in the center, the five 'Champions' sitting in chairs around it while waiting for him.
"I got her." Pascho calls, causing a few of them to stand and look at him.
Alekia walks over, checking the girl over once she is set down on the grass, "Wow.. SHE saved you?? Lucky boy..."
Pascho sighs, "Wish she didn't."
Moros pats Pascho on the shoulder to comfort his friend.
"We need to get ready to move, no doubt once the Chosen find out they will come hunting for her to return her to her destiny." Mesmerian says, his left hand on the hilt of his sword as he walks over.
The group nod and begin readying themselves, gathering supplies and taking the tents down.

Take Overs
Things got worse as the hearts throbbed and ached. The next morning...
"What do you mean a letter?" Moros asks as he dressed for the day, glancing over towards Pascho.
Pascho nods, "Yeah! Apparently the sisters want to talk with everyone who didn't get Chosen."
"That's odd. Never heard of them doing stuff to those who didn't get chosen." Moros bites his lower lip in thought, "Yeah why not. Let's go."
Pascho flashes a grin, "Excellent. Maybe I'll get to see Cassalandria again and thank her for saving me."
Moros snorts, "You got saved by a girl."
Pascho rolls his eyes, wandering out of the dorm room.
The two wander back to the temple hall, standing before them were two of the six sisters.
"Welcome, students! We will be breaking tradition this year! All of you will be receiving gifts of this world! But before you are to receive these destined blessings, Six of you must become evil... The counterparts to the Chosen. The Yin to their Yang. Unlike the Chosen, we will allow Six of you to chose for yourself if you want this destiny!" The older of the two girls shouts.
Pascho's eyes light up in excitement.
"Now most of you must be wondering why it is we are doing this. The answer is simple. Yesterday you bore witness to an act of heroism by one of the sisters to protect your friend and fellow student. So in return, me and sister Jazminya have decided to allow her a fighting chance. We will be taking six of you to become her Chosen six. You will be her defenders even if that means the Chosen will hate you." Korylra shouts to all of the students.
"I volunteer!" Pascho raises his hand, no hesitation.
"Pascho! Are you crazy?" Moros whispers to him, trying to pull his hand down.
"Dude. She got in this mess because of me, least I can do is be one of her defenders." Pascho shoves off of him and walks up.
Kory smiles and hands him a clear crystal, "You will be the defender against Pyrithist, the Machine. You will control the emotions that he cannot feel."
Pascho nods, standing by the sisters side.
Moros sighs, "Guess I'll help too." He wanders up.
"You will be the defender against Phronous, the Mind-Breaker. You will control the soul that she can no longer use." Kory hands him a black stone.
Moros frowns at this, not understanding what they mean against defend against Phronous.
"We'll aid the Outcast!" A boy, Mesmerian, shouts, walking up with another boy by his side.
"You sir will defend against Ervus, The Earth Mover. You will create the illusions that his mind cannot view, the sights it cannot see." She hands a glittering gem to Mesmerian, then turns to the other boy, "And you, Karimor, will defend against Lybria, The Storm-Caller. You will become that which needs no breath, does not feel the water." And with that she hands him a metallic gem.
"I will lend my aid." A girl, Metaeno, steps up.
"You will defend against Pirus, The Flame. You will become that which holds no true form, something that she cannot burn nor freeze." She hands her a pale green gem.
"I will aid them." Stepped forth a girl with red hair.
Blinking, Kory nods, "Alright then, Alekia. You will defend against Zyo.. Your brother. You will be what he cannot see, what he cannot track."
Alekia nods as she takes the gem, "I understand."
"These are our champions!" Kory calls to the rest of the students, "They will path the way for you to write your own fates! Use these well!"
Jazminya began walking around, passing out stones and telling the holders what they did.
"We will strike down the High Priestess and her Chosen! We will defeat the gods! We will take back our lands and make the world how we wish it!" Kory continues shouting, being met with cheers.
Moros's eyes widen, "Oh no..."

Blind Faith
Later that evening at the Temple of the Sisterhood...
"What do you mean she became the Outcast?! She didn't do anything wrong!" A girl with flowing black gasps.
"Mother you can't be serious. You have to beg the gods for her foolish mistake to protect the blasphemy of a boy!" Another girl says, her hair a neon green.
"I will not speak with the gods again. She has made her choice, Korylra." The High Priestess sighs, taking a weak breath, "I am retiring to my room now. None of you are to speak to her."
"This is absurd!" Korylra, the green haired, shouts in frustration.
"The Mother has made her choice, Korylra. We must honor it." Another girl says, leaning against a doorway with her arms crossed.
"Kyrla! We can't just stand by when one of our sisters is being punished for a crime she did not commit!" Kory says, turning angrily towards the sister.
"She chose to be punished for the boys crime. She did what we were raised to do." Kyrla looks at her with a pokerface.
"So we're just to accept this?!" Kory grits her teeth.
"It's fine sister.. I am willing to do this.. To waver in my decision would look bad on the sisters." Cassie steps out of her room, wiping away the last of her tears from her red eyes.
"Cass..." Kory frowns.
"I will be fine. Besides, someone was bound to get this destiny. I rather it be me then anyone else. No one should suffer to be alone." Cassandra offers a smile of reassurance.
"Don't do this, big sister..." The girl with black hair whimpers.
"Jazminya.. You're older then me, I don't know why you refer to me as big sister." Cassie moves over to the girl, though 'Jaz' was a good foot shorter; Cassie ruffles Jazminya's hair.
"Cassalandria!" Kyrla's eyes widen.
Cassie frowns, pulling her hand away as it begins turning black, "Right... Outcasts can't touch the Sisters."
"You should just go." An older girl growls, her nose twitching.
"You are right, Sister Velinya... I will leave now." Cass says, returning to inside her room.
"Must you be so cold on her, Velinya!" Korylra lashes out, sending a slash of purple energy towards her, destroying the stone next to Vel.
"We must be cold, you know that. She is to become our greatest enemy. She will end up destroying this world." Velinya says, frowning.

The Chosen
That day came so swiftly. They weren't ready. Why did the priestess and the council decide so soon? Those poor children...
"Come on Moros! We're gonna be late for the ceremony! We're finally going to learn what roles we will play for the world! Isn't it exciting?" Phronous laughs as she drags the boy by his sleeve towards the large polished temple.
"I don't know why you're so excited. We already know you're gonna be one of the heroes of old." Moros sighs as he's towed along.
As the two teens entered the temple, many of their fellow students were there, all crowded together. A woman draped in light and cloth steps forward.
"Welcome, children of our future. Today is a momentous occasion for all of you. Your destinies will now be given to you." The woman offers a smile, "I will call out your name and the destiny that will be bestowed upon you."
Fates were so cruel. Separating the children, specially those that were in love and believed fates will grant them marriage.
"We will begin with those who are destined to unify the kingdoms through their love and kindness. First off.. Pirus!" The woman called out, holding out a red gem that was in the shape of flames, "She will bring love and warmth throughout the kingdoms during their darkest hours."
The small 12 year old walks up, accepting the gem, "I swear to follow the destiny the gods have layed before me." The gem infuses into her shoulder, leaving a flowering tattoo running down her arm and back.
The woman waits for her to walk through a door on the right then continues, "Next is Phronous. The fates have allowed her to control our purity, to be the thoughts and allow us to sustain happiness and hope." She holds up a white gem that was smooth and round.
Phronous squeezes Moros's hand before walking up quickly, taking the gem, "I hereby accept the fate that the gods have given unto me!" She holds it close, the gem resting beneath her right eye as the tattoo spreads in strange patterns over the right side of her face and neck.
Moros smiles as he watches her slip through the door, awaiting to see what he would get so he could go congratulate her.
The woman calls, ".. Ervus has been granted the power to control the worlds movement! To form mountains and provide strength and honor amongst times of war! Be the rock of which others will count upon in times of need!" She holds out a rough black gem to the boy that wanders up.
"I shall accept this challenge! My strength may never falter!" He held the gem up proudly, his veins having black ink run down them, branching off into his tattoo.
The group of teens were getting anxious, only three crystals of light remained.
"Next, Lybria! He has been granted the control over sea and air. To provide us with air to breathe, and ocean of which to bless us with nourishment." The woman holds out a sky blue stone.
The young, sassy boy, wanders up, taking the gem and strikes a pose, "I swear to provide as the gods have commanded to do!" The tattoo swirls around his ankles and legs, the gem embedded on the back of his neck.
Moros begins growing nervous.
"Pyristhist! You will be allowed to power to control the devices. To determine the outcomes of war! To defend us from any threats and keep us in peaceful bliss!" The woman calls, holding a silver, square gem.
The rather bored looking teenage boy wanders up, he takes the gem from her but says nothing; His clothing hides where the tattoo and gem were.
Pascho and Moros exchange a glance, their hearts sinking. The three musketeers were going to be separated...
"And lastly... The Guardian of life, nature, and rebirth... Zyo!" The woman holds up a green, glowing leaf.
Moros's knees shake before they give out under him. He stares at the ground as tears begin forming.
Escaping from his lips, he whispers, "No..."
That was the day he became shattered, both heart and mind.
As the woman was about to hand the leaf over to the oldest of the students, Pascho runs forward and snatches it.
"HOW DARE YOU!" The woman growls, glaring at the lanky boy.
Moros looks up at this, Pascho stumbling back from the woman's wrath.
The woman's eyes glow white, multiple voices speaking out, "You dare oppose the fates?! For that you will be punished!"
Coming from a behind a pillar, Cassandra runs out, getting between them.
Cassie shouts, "Mother no! Spare the boy!"
Pascho falls on his ass, staring up in terror as his entire body quivers.
The woman scowls, "Cassalandria. Step aside!"
"I won't! I call to the gods, Punish me in the boys steed!" Cass calls out.
The woman glares, the voice not her own speaks, "Then so be it, child. You will receive his punishment. That punishment is.."
The room became deathly silent.
"You will become the new leader of darkness. The Outcast." The voice said.
Pascho began breaking into tears, Cassie's eyes widening.
Zyo sighs, a frown forming as he walks over to Pasco, taking the gemmed leaf from him before walking off to follow the other five Chosen.
The woman returns to normal, frowning, "The rest of you.. Get out of my sight."
Moros walks over, wiping tears away as he reaches to pick up Pascho. The two boys walking away and following the crowd of students not chosen. As they exit, Pascho glances over his shoulder, towards Cassandra in time to see her fall to her knees and begin crying into her hands.
